We all are afraid that the Bolsheviks will force us to give part of our apartments to workers who have nowhere to go.

The new communist government provides them with so-called “class mandates” so that they can confiscate spare rooms in the rich apartments.

Following my boss advice, I have hung an Argentine flag made out of our kitchen curtains over the entrance to our apartment, believing that it affords us some protection from the Bolshevik inspectors. And perhaps it has worked: we haven’t had any unwelcome visitors so far.
